Tomato bath

Tomato bath or Tomato rice recipe, a restaurant-style south Indian one-pot breakfast recipe that tastes delicious, full of flavors and is healthy too. You can give it to the kids who just started having solid foods because it has a very mild flavor and tastes very awesome when served hot… so  let’s start making Tomato bath

Ingredients: 

Rava (semolina) – 1 cup.

Oil- 3 tbsp

Urad daal – 1 tsp.

Chana daal – 1 tsp.

Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp.

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp.

Ginger(chopped) – 1 inch piece.

Onion (medium size) – 1

Turmeric powder – 1 pinch

Green chilly chopped – 3.

Tomatoes – 2 cups.

Curry leaves – 2 springs.

Cashew nuts – 5-8.

Lime juice – 1 Tbsp

Water – 3 cups

Salt – a/c taste.

Ghee – 1 Tbsp.(optional)

Preparations & METHOD::

  • Heat ghee in a pan add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds, chana daal, Urad daal, cashew nuts, cook this cashew nuts gets golden in color,
  • Add chopped green chilly, chopped onions, chopped ginger, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt, tomatoes, water, comes to boil squeeze lime juice.
  • Now add semolina (dry roast) mix this well put the lid on let it cook for 3 minutes, switch off the flame, let it rest for 3 minutes then serve hot. ENJOY!!!!

Tips:

  • Serves 2-3.
  • Serve this with gun powder, peanut chutney, and sugar.
