Have you heard of No-Bread Sandwich. Yes a sandwich made without bread. Healthy and Nutritious too. You can have it as a breakfast without any guilt. No more carbs and no more calorie counts. Ditch the bread and try this wholesome Green Moong Daal Sandwich! A tasty, high-protein, and fiber-rich Indian-style snack perfect for breakfast or tiffin.
Ingredients:
Green Moong daal-1 cup(soaked overnight and grinded into fine paste without any water).
For Filling:
Sweet corn kernels -2 Tbsp
Capsicum -1 small(You can variety of colours)
Onion- œfinely chopped
Carrot-1 small grated
Mayonnaise -1 Tbsp(Optional)
Black pepper -1 tsp
Oregano-1 tsp
salt-1 tsp
Tomato ketchup -1 Tbsp
Cheese slice-as needed (Optional)
Preparations:
. Soak Green Moong dal overnight. While making grind into a fine paste with little or no water.
. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
METHOD:
1. Take a sandwich maker and grease well with oil or ghee.
2. Place the first layer of Moong dal paste. Make sure layer must not be thick or too thin.
3. Place the filling mixture and a slice of cheese.
4. Again place a layer of moongdal. Make sure the filling is not spill over.
5. Close the lid and cook for minutes on both sides.
6. Leave it for a minute and open slowly. Serve Hot and ENJOY!!!
TIPS:
. Makes 4-5 sandwiches with 1 cup of moongdal.
. You can use veggies of your choice.
. You can make this same recipe with split yellow moong daal.
. You can mix the filling with moongdal paste and directly make sandwiches, rather placing them in a layers.
