Heard of Jack fruit Curry? YES !!This is the curry famous in Kerala. Tastes very different and goes well as a side dish for roti and rice. I personally like eating the fruit itself, but sometimes we bought them in bulk, and there hit me a idea of making a curry and while browsing I came across this curry. This is actually a common dish in kerala. After making this I became a fan of it.You can make this curry in off seasons also, many places frozen jack fruit also available or you can easily find it online.So, without delay lets learn how to make flavourful raw jack fruit curry with simple spices and home style cooking. This wholesome Indian curry is filling, delicious, and meat-like in texture.
Ingredients:
Jack Fruit Pieces-Thinly sliced 11/2Cup
Onion-2 medium size
Green chillies- 5-6
Curry leaves-1-2 strands
Cumin Seeds-2 tsp
Fresh Coconut- grated 3 Tbsp
Garlic-4-5 cloves
Salt-a/c taste
For Tempering:
Oil- 1Tbsp
Onion- one small
Curry leaves-1 strand
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Dry Red chillies-1-2
Preparations:
. Thinly slice the jack fruit, wash it in running water 2-3 times.
. Steam them with little salt for 10 minutes. Set aside.
. Take a grinder add freshly grated coconut, onions roughly chopped, green chillies, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric and salt. Make a fine or coarse paste as you wish. (I make coarse).

METHOD:
- After steaming the jack fruit, take it out in serving bowl, and mix the grounded coconut paste. Mix it thoroughly, while it releases some moisture. Check and adjust the salt if necessary.
- Take another small pan for tampering, add oil heat it for 1 minute , now add mustard seeds, crackle them.
- Now add finely chopped onions, sautee them for a while, add curry leaves, and dry red chllies.
- Transfer this tampering to the jack fruit mixture in the serving bowl. Mix it well and Enjoy!!!!

TIPS:
. Serves 2-3.
. Goes well with Roti or Rice.
. Tastes best when made with fresh fruit.
. Consume it within a day or two. It will not sustain even if you refrigerate.
