Kunafa (also spelled Knafeh or Kunafeh) is a beloved Middle Eastern dessert made with thin shredded pastry called kataifi or a fine semolina dough. It’s layered with a rich filling—traditionally melty cheese, clotted cream, or even sweet cream—then baked to golden perfection. Once hot, it is soaked in fragrant sugar syrup flavored with rose or orange blossom, giving it a unique sweet–floral taste.
Crunchy on the outside and soft inside, kunafa is often topped with pistachios and enjoyed during celebrations, Ramadan, or simply as a special treat. It’s indulgent, comforting, and unforgettable in every bite!
