Chilli Chicken – Spicy and Irresistible

Ingredients:

FOR MARINATION
Chicken-500gms (boneless)
Egg-1
Cornflour-3Tbsp
All purpose flour(Maida)-1Tbsp(optional)
Black pepper powder-1tsp
Soy sauce-2tsp
Salt-1tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1Tbsp
Refined vegetable oil for deep frying

FOR GRAVY:
Onion-1 medium size cut into cubes
Capsicum -1 medium size cut into cubes
Garlic-2tsp chopped
Ginger-1tsp chopped
Green chillies-2-3 slit
Spring onion-2 stalks
Tomato sauce/ketchup-4Tbsp
Red chili sauce-2Tbsp
Soy sauce-1Tbsp
Vinegar-1Tbsp
Salt-1 tsp
Red chili powder-1tsp(optional)
3 tbsp corn flour
Water-250 ml or as required
Sesame oil or any refined oil-2Tbsp

Preparations:

  • Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly, drain the water completely.
  • Add all ingredients mentioned in marination part, mix well and marinate for atleast half-an-hour.
  • Make a slurry with corn flour and water, set aside.

Marinade

 METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Fry the marinated chicken and set aside.
  2. Take another wide pan. Add 2Tbsp oil.
  3. Add chopped garlic, ginger, green chillies and fry for a minute.
  4. Add onion cubes, fry for a while, then add capsicum cubes fry till translucent.
  5. Add tomato sauce/ketchup, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and salt. Fry till the sauces thicken, add water gradually if required.
  6. Add the corn flour slurry and cook for a minute.
  7. Add fried chicken pieces and mix well till the gravy is well combined.
  8. Finally garnish with spring onions, serve hot and Enjoy!!!

Tips:

  • Serves 3-4.
  • Serve as a party starter. Goes well with chowmein, Ghee rice.
